Rendre ton Rammstein encore meilleur ! [Updated 2025-08-19]

Recommended Posts

[UPDATED ON 2025-08-19 with a new and better method! All NEW info is in bold ITALIC TEXT! - Now also in FRENCH!]

First off, I apologise if this isn't allowed, feel free to take this thread down. I read the guidelines, and I understood the basics and from what I could gather, this should be okay.

-

I've longed for hearing Rammstein in a more clear way for decades, and thanks to AI,

I've pretty much achieved my goal - and now I have decided to share it with everyone because I want everyone to hear the depth and width of Rammstein's music.

It is incredible to hear.

So, what's the catch? I should say that this method doesn't cost anything, and everyone can do it.

What you need:

A DAW (digital audio workstation) such as Cubase, Reaper (I use Reaper in the clip) or Pro Tools.
Ultimate Vocal Remover 5.6
A good GPU.
Patience. (Processing songs takes a long whiiiiiile, so please be patient. For me it takes about 25 minutes per song.)

Rendez "Instrumental Only".

5.

Vous avez donc maintenant (No Reverb)_(Vocals).
6.
Vous avez maintenant besoin de (Instrumental)_
(Vocals).

7.
Avant-dernière étape de rendu. Vous avez besoin de (No Reverb)_
(Other).
Allez dans Demucs v4 | htdemucs_6s et sélectionnez "Other Only".
8.
(No Reverb)_(Instrumental)_(Vocals), (No Reverb)_(Vocals), (Vocals), (Instrumental)_(Vocals), (Bass), (Drums), (Guitars), (Other), (No Reverb)_(Other), (Piano).
10.
Mes niveaux personnels :
-4.32 sur (No Reverb)_
(Instrumental)_(Vocals)
-13.3 sur (No Reverb)
_(Vocals)
-13.7 sur (Vocals)
-1.85 sur (Instrumental)_(Vocals)
-7.67 sur (Bass)
-5.74 sur (Drums)
-7.67 sur (Guitars)
-7.67 sur (Other)
-8.17 sur (No Reverb)
_(Other)

English:

Preparation:

To access the Download Center of UVR, click on the tools key, then in the top-right side of the window that popped up,

click on Download Center. This is where you download your Models. To access the dropdown menus, click on the small circle above the dropdown menu.

If you do not see a model in the respective Models lists, download it here.

-

Ok, let's do this!

1.
Click on Select Input and select your song. Head to Demucs as the Process Method and select the Demucs Model called v4 | htdemucs_6s. Render all instruments as Only except vocals. We skip vocals for now. To select an instrument, click on the Choose Stem(s) dropdown menu and select any instrument except vocals.
2.
With the same original song still as input, select MDX-Net as Process Method, and select Reverb HQ as the Model.
You want to render No Reverb Only.
3.
Open the newly rendered No Reverb Only (named as filename (No Reverb)) file as your input in UVR. Then open VR Arch as your process method and select 5_HP-Karaoke-UVR. Render Instrumental Only. You will now have a new file named (No Reverb)_(Instrumental)
I always use 5_HP-Karaoke-UVR as instrumental model, so keep that in mind.
4.
Open the newly rendered (No Reverb)_(Instrumental) as input.
NOW we want to render the Vocals, but in Ensemble Mode. The ensembled models you want to use are:
Kim Vocals 1, Kim Vocals 2, UVR_MDXNET_Main, UVR-MDX-NET-Voc_FT, UVR_MDXNET_9482, kuielab_a_vocals, and lastly kuielab_b_vocals.

Hit render Vocals Only. (Also, save the Ensemble in the Ensemble Options menu so you won't have to select each model every time you open UVR.)

You now will have a file named filename (No Reverb)_(Instrumental)_(Vocals)
5.
You now need (No Reverb)_(Vocals)
To get that, open the already rendered (No Reverb) file (it is in your output folder) as input in UVR, then head to Ensemble Mode and render Vocals Only with your saved ensemble.

So now you have (No Reverb)_(Vocals)
6.
You now need (Instrumental)_(Vocals)
To get this, open the original song as input, then, as I said before in step 3, go to VR Arch and select 5_HP-Karaoke-UVR and hit Instrumental Only.

Next, open the (Instrumental) you just rendered, then go to Ensemble Mode and, if needed, load your saved preset, then proceed to render Vocals Only.
You now have (Instrumental)_(Vocals)
7.
Second last render. You need (No Reverb)_(Other)
To get this, open the already rendered (No_Reverb) file that's in your output folder, as input. Head to Demucs v4 | htdemucs_6s and select Other Only.
8.
You're almost done. Last render, (Vocals) is to select input as the original song, head to Ensemble Mode and render Vocals with your saved ensemble.
9.
Open your DAW and insert the following files:
(No Reverb)_(Instrumental)_(Vocals), (No Reverb)_(Vocals), (Vocals), (Instrumental)_(Vocals), (Bass), (Drums), (Guitars), (Other), (No Reverb)_(Other), (Piano)
10.
My personal levels:
-4.32 on (No Reverb)_(Instrumental)_(Vocals)
-13.3 on (No Reverb)_(Vocals)
-13.7 on (Vocals)
-1.85 on (Instrumental)_(Vocals)
-7.67 on (Bass)
-5.74 on (Drums)
-7.67 on (Guitars)
-7.67 on (Other)
-8.17 on (No Reverb)_(Other)
0.00 on (Piano)

Below is a clip. In it, I show how the process affects "Mutter" and "Nebel", bringing forward the background vocals a bit. I use "Mutter" because the effect is pretty noticeable, and with "Nebel" the effect is absolutely insane.

-

First in the clip is a snippet of the original version of Mutter, then the same snippet is played with the UVR files. Listen for the background vocals.

-

-

First in the clip is a snippet of the original version of "Nebel", then the same snippet is played with the UVR files. Listen for Bobo's backing vocals.

If you have any questions, please, do ask me and I will gladly help with clarifying whatever it is that you need assistance with.
I apologise for not knowing French, please don't hate me. I used ChatGPT to translate English into French.

-

I am really sad to say this but please do not use vinyl rips as you may enhance the pops and crackles, unless you have a really really good rip of the vinyl.

-

I want to thank @Reiseliedfor years of patience with me and my struggles, and listening to my failures. I also want to thank@DuduMilfor being a really good friend and for cheering me on, lastly I want to thank @Atomiiik for also giving some positive comments!

-

Lastly I want to say fu to my schizophrenia which caused me to hallucinate voices into songs that aren't there and for making myself look like a complete idiot.

I have now relapsed into schizophrenia after being voice-free for about 2 years, but I guess it will never go away completely.

-

This said, please enjoy Rammstein in whatever way you want. I am not saying that Rammstein's music is bad without this method - not at all. Rammstein is great.

I am just introducing this method if you want to hear the things we may miss out on when listening.

-

Ok, that's it. I will keep a close eye on this thread and reply to as many questions as I can, but I hope this clip will clarify things well enough.

Thank you so much for the comment and the heart. I was wondering one thing though: How do I embed the clip to the post? I see other people embedding their youtube clips but I see no button for doing so.

I figured it out, yey!

Hey man, that’s nice !

I’d be interested in Ich Tu Dir Weh and Rosenrot, which have some nice backing vocals.

Hello! Thank you for commenting! Yes! You should definitely do Ich tu dir weh and Rosenrot. Ich tu dir weh is insanely beautiful when doing this trick.

The result of doing this trick however varies with the song. Unfortunately I have yet to figure out a way to pull forward the exact thing that one may want to listen to, but I hope that AI will evolve even further so that this may become a possibility in the future.

I hope that this method is okay enough to please to some degree.

If anyone has questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

  • Rihin changed the title to [Updated 2025-08-19] Making your Rammstein sound even better!
Posted (edited)

I have updated the first post with a new method that is - in my view - superior to the old version.

This new version REALLY digs in deep into Rammstein's wonderful music and brings out the background vocals and so on in an eye-opening way!
Please feel free to comment on your impressions and what surprised you a lot when re-listening to your favorite songs!
Please note that the effect varies depending on the song.

As always, I will keep my eyes on this thread. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.

There now is a guide in French too. I used ChatGPT to translate English into French!

  • Rihin changed the title to Rendre ton Rammstein encore meilleur ! [Updated 2025-08-19]

This is how you recognize excellently mixed and produced music - hidden vocals, thickening (pitch shift duplicates), samples/textures mixed into the background etc. This is why I love Rammstein. So many layers!

Bobo's vocals in Nebel are superb! It's really great to hear them so close in the audible foreground. Otherwise, I recommend Eifersucht: This song is full of strange effects and vocal doubling. Excellent work!

This phenomenon also reminds me of broken headphone jacks or wired headphones that aren't plugged in properly: Sometimes frequencies in a song become audible that would otherwise have been lost. I had a similar eureka moment with Spieluhr, when the sawing main lead, the choirs, and the strange spheres in the verses suddenly became much clearer.
