Live In Mexico City

Live In Mexico City is a Rammstein live album due for release on 20 November 2026. It captures the band’s stadium tour in 4K and Dolby Atmos, focusing in particular on their three concerts at the Foro Sol in Mexico City on 1, 2 and 4 October 2022. The director is Paul Dugdale, a renowned specialist in concert films (Adele, Taylor Swift, the Rolling Stones, Coldplay).

Officially announced on 15 September 2026 after a wait of nearly four years, the full-length version of this live recording runs for approximately 2 hours 28 minutes (23 songs). A shortened version lasting around 1 hour 50 minutes (20 songs) will be screened exclusively in cinemas worldwide from 4 November 2026.

Genesis

Whilst the 2019 tour had been filmed in Vienna on 22 and 23 August (incidentally, this live recording has never been released to date), rumours of filming in Mexico City in 2022 grew increasingly persistent as the concerts drew nearer. Official confirmation came on 14 September, when Rammstein announced on their official LIFAD forum that they would be unable to organise Meet & Greets at the Foro Sol due to a film shoot.

During the three nights of filming, numerous cameras were spotted, including on stage. Everything contributed to making the Mexico City concerts unique, such as the addition of two turrets and extra lighting in the pit, as well as the use of lights arranged around the stadium.

No details emerged until May 2026, when the FSK, the German body responsible for determining the minimum age for viewing films, published a listing entitled Rammstein Live in Mexico City. The title of the live recording was thus revealed, along with its running time: 148 minutes and 34 seconds, and the name of the director: Paul Dugdale.

Promotion

On 14 September 2026, the promotional campaign officially kicked off with a first teaser. It shows a drone flying into the Foro Sol at the start of the concert.

The following day, Rammstein announced the release of their Live In Mexico City, both in cinemas and on physical media. The announcement was accompanied by a stunning trailer lasting over two minutes.

The live album’s logo is unveiled on the band’s website, and the film poster is available to download from the dedicated website Rammsteinmexico.live. A few days later, the live album’s logo is simplified: the Mexican national emblem is removed. One can imagine there were rights issues.

On 18 September, Rammstein unveiled a short 22-second clip from the song Armee der Tristen, the first of the 23 tracks on the concert’s setlist.

From November 4, 2026, audiences worldwide can experience Rammstein – Live in Mexico City in cinematic 4K, with Dolby Atmos sound where available.
