Heute hat die Welt Geburtstag (
It's the World's Birthday Today) is the second written by Christian "Flake" Lorenz, released on October 5, 2017. Like his first book Der Tastenficker, it is an autobiography.
An audio book, read by Flake, was released, also on October 5, 2017. Unlike the audio book of Der Tastenficker, the reading is complete; no passages are omitted.
What do you do as a musician when you sit in the backstage room much too early and have to wait another four hours for your own concert? Flake first goes for a walk and thinks about how it all started back then with Rammstein and how the state of emergency on stage has become part of everyday life. He remembers his first chaotic concerts, painful burns and how he imagined his life as a musician as a child. In his second book, Flake describes with great openness and a lot of humour his very own view of the world after twenty years as a keyboarder in probably the most successful German-speaking band of our time.
I have no idea how late it actually is. We flew off somewhere this morning, and my cell phone automatically turns off the clock if we're getting close to a new time zone by plane. Mile by mile, the bus pushes through the inner city. Budapest seems to be quite big. We are in the middle of rush hour traffic. As it is Friday, everyone wants to get out of the city very quickly. But nothing works quickly here at all.
